How to activate Okta
1. To activate your Okta account, you should receive an email from noreply@okta.com. Click the Activate Okta Account.
2. This will take you to the Jackson College Okta sign-in page. Shown below.
3. Type in your current JC username and password, then Click Sign In.
4. Select a security image and click Create My Account.
5. You will then be asked to set up Multifactor Authentication on your account. You can select whichever method you prefer.
You have the option of enabling one or both MFA methods, but you must select at least one.
SMS Authentication Setup
SMS Authentication is text notifications instead of downloading the app.
- To do this just enter in your phone number and then click on Send Code.
- You should receive a text to your phone with the code you need to enter. Click Verify, and you are all set.
Okta Verify Setup
Okta Verify is a mobile app you can download.
A. Select your profile, shown by your name and the person icon.
B. Click Settings
C. View Extra Verification, below this subsection, is Okta Verify. Click Set Up.
- If you select to install the app, you must indicate if you are using an Android or iPhone.
- Authenticate Okta verification by scanning the QR code.
Download Okta Verify Apps
You are all set; click Done.
