Outlook Forwarding to Gmail

 

 

 

What Is It?

Since switching to Gmail for students on August 13th, 2024, in order to see your emails in your Gmail inbox, forwarding must be setup in your Outlook settings. If you disabled forwarding from your Outlook or assistance troubleshooting, this article is for you. Please do not use your personal email to setup Outlook forwarding. 

 

Enabling Forwarding
 

1.      Go to Outlook on the web (or the Outlook app if you have installed the newer version as they are near identical).

2.      Select the Gear icon in the upper right to open your settings.

3.      Navigate to Mail > Forwarding.

4.      Ensure the toggle for ‘Enable Forwarding’ is turned on.

5.      Enter your email address for forwarding, this will be a modified version of your standard email address.

a.      For students, replace the ‘@my.jccmi.edu’ portion of your email with ‘@jc-mig2.org’ instead.

b.      For staff, replace the ‘@jccmi.edu’ portion of your email with ‘@jc-mig.org’ instead.

6.      For students, you are all set to receive incoming emails in your Gmail inbox.
For staff, please select the ‘Keep a copy of forwarded messages’ check box.
