Hardware is a collective term used to describe any of the physical components of your computer, monitors, or accessories such as docking station, mouse, keyboard, or web cam.

Software Request

Software pertains to the applications accessed that allow you to operate your computer and execute specific tasks. This includes such things as Office 365 application (outlook, word, excel, powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat, Calendly, Ironbox, Shared Folder, and the file application.
